Welcome to BASSING-JERSEY

Welcome to my blog. This is not a site for anyone to obtain fishing marks from reading my site. It is for bass anglers who are keen on learning different methods.

It is also aimed at anglers who are not interested in slaughtering fish but return the majority of their fish to fight another day.

I intend to use it as a diary of my fishing trips and some of the marks mentioned in the blog will only mean something to a few readers.

A lovely almost summer like afternoon

out with Bev on a beautiful afternoon, started off getting a few mackerel off La Moye Point before ending up at reef in St Aubins bay where we had a number of pollack and a bass around the 2lb caught on the black minnow. The fish loved it allowing it to flutter down.

Wrasse but no Bass

Out today in a chilly easterly wind looking for bass as I hear that a 14lb fish was caught last week I had a couple of pollack on my Jersey wonders when decided to give my jigging rod a go. Using a white and pink 6 inch shad i was immediately hit by a fish on the controlled drop.

The fish was netted and weighed just over 5lbs on my boga grips. I was also joined by a group of 4 dolphins for about 20 minutes or so.Also lots of whitebait in the harbour.
