Welcome to BASSING-JERSEY

Welcome to my blog. This is not a site for anyone to obtain fishing marks from reading my site. It is for bass anglers who are keen on learning different methods.

It is also aimed at anglers who are not interested in slaughtering fish but return the majority of their fish to fight another day.

I intend to use it as a diary of my fishing trips and some of the marks mentioned in the blog will only mean something to a few readers.

Second Double well almost

Out with Derek again today we had a total of 33 Bass Derek included his tally with a fish just under 10lbs caught near the wading reef whist he had another one of 5lbs near the offshore reefs. These were caught in shallow water. Again a lot of Bass near to or prior to the point

first double of the year

No not me but out with Derek today and it started fairly well with a fish of around 4.5lbs caught in about 6ft of water. Derek then hooked into a solid fish that moved off at speed not realising it was hooked. A steady fight ensued with the fish making a number of spirited runs. This is the advantage of catching fish in shallow water.

Eventually after several minutes the fish was safely netted and weighed in at 11bs on the boga grips whilst it showed 12lbs. on the BASS Tape. The fish was unhooked and realesed back to fight another day. The day continued fairly well with a total of 13 fish coming to the boat with  an average weight of around 3lbs. All the fish were caught on sidewinder shimmer eels.

The fish was caught where I had my first fish with Paul

Last week round up

Have been out a few times with Deek and I have tried to continue with the other methods, Wednesday we had a number of fish but small, Derek catching one at bird rock then near gannet gulley and some the main gulley at Le Hocq, whilst Thursday saw all the fish appear at Le Hocq on the incoming tide.Yesterday we fished the lagoon and I had some success on the final heaven worm fished on a hook and a couple of pegged split shot. nothing at the point but we still managed 9 fish
