Welcome to BASSING-JERSEY

Welcome to my blog. This is not a site for anyone to obtain fishing marks from reading my site. It is for bass anglers who are keen on learning different methods.

It is also aimed at anglers who are not interested in slaughtering fish but return the majority of their fish to fight another day.

I intend to use it as a diary of my fishing trips and some of the marks mentioned in the blog will only mean something to a few readers.

fog and pollack

The day started off a bit misty as I headed off in amongst the gutters on the East Coast of Jersey.I thought I might pick up a stray bass but that was not to be. I thought I might try out the savagear sandeel slug. I attached it to a 7gm jig head and arrived at one of my favourite reefs that was slowly uncovering with a fast ron of tide over it.

I know that any fish are always at one end of the reef so adjusted my drift to pass it . Immediately I began to hit pollack of around the 3.5lb a decent size for about 12foot of water. A lot of the fish seemed to be stuffed with what looked like butterfish or something similar.

Nantes 2012

Having returned from Nantes last week I though I would just give an update of what I saw learnt etc.Certainly the show was not as big as last year and certainly visitors seemed to be less. Having said that it was ineteresting to listen to some of the guys there and also to see the Monster Tackle gang there, buying goods.

What caught my eye were the new castiac eels made for the French market I have bought a couple of packs to try. Also I liked the new sinking z claw which would be handy under certain circumstances.

New hooks are coming on the market which I am told by Ultimate guides as having been very successful last year.

A number of metal lures are coming on the market also ultimate have a weight for getting tiny soft plastics down in deep water to fish for bream etc.

I am sorry there are no photos at present but I will update with more info when I have tested the items. I must say I like the look of the savagegear sandeel slugs which Monster tackle have on sale. I saw them at the show and look like they will be a big hit this season. Cannot wait to try them out.
